AACSB

The School of Business & Economics is a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB is a global, nonprofit membership organization of educational institutions, businesses, and other entities devoted to the advancement of management education. Established in 1916, AACSB International provides its members with a variety of products and services to assist them with the continuous improvement of their business programs and schools. AACSB provides internationally recognized, specialized accreditation for business and accounting programs. The AACSB Accreditation Standards challenge post-secondary educators to pursue excellence and continuous improvement throughout their business programs. AACSB Accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longest standing, most recognized form of specialized/professional accreditation an institution and its business programs can earn.

In addition to providing its members with products and services, AACSB International strives to identify challenges and trends that are facing the business education industry through its research and various initiatives. The association also educates students, parents, employers, and counselors about accreditation and how to choose a quality business degree program that will fit their needs. AACSB conducts research, assesses trends, host over 60 conferences and seminars annually and brings together business school leaders to learn from each other. More than 1,369 in 89 countries are members of AACSB international, with about 711 member institutions that hold AACSB accreditation.

MKU School of Business & Economics was admitted as a member of AACSB in January 2015, following a preliminary inspection visit by AACSB accreditation officer (Jane Lawler) and AACSB chief operations officer –COO (Dr. Jan Le Clair) in June 2014. The school is in the process of perusing full accreditation, an achievement that will propel the school to join the top 1% business schools globally. By so doing, the school will cement her position and commitment to be part of this unique association of top level and diverse institutions focused on advancing quality management education globally.
